  2. Problem • Joe is going on a turkey hunt. For every turkey he shoots the cost is $45.00. If Joe shoots x number of turkeys, how much will he have to pay?

  3. Variable • Equation: y=45x • Independent and dependant variables: How much Joe pays depends on how many turkeys he shoots. • Is this a function: Yes • Why: It is a function because it only has one x value

  4. Domain • Definition of domain and range: The Domainof a relation is the set of first coordinates(or x values) of the ordered pairs.

  5. Range • The Range of a relation is the set of second coordinates(or y values) of the ordered pairs.

  6. Domain And Range • Domain(1,2,3,4,5) • Range(45;90;135;180;225) • The Domain is continuous • Why? Because its going up and away

  7. Is it a function? • Yes, the x value will never repeat, because you can’t shoot half a turkey.

  8. Function Notation • Equation stated: y=45(x) • Function Notation: f(x)=45(x)

  10. So • If Joe shoots x number of turkeys at the end of his trip Joe has to pay y amount of money for the turkeys he shoots.
