Task 1 – Mitigation and Preparedness • Support the NTHMP and Tsunami Ready Program with an FTE that coordinates all program activities for Washington State • Support quarterly State/Local Tsunami Workgroup meetings, approximately 8 coastal workshops, approximately 5 coastal tsunami exercises and NTHMP meetings • Partner with NOAA Pacific Services Center to develop an interactive Tsunami Hazard Information Service that provides residents and visitors online access to the tsunami evacuation zones maps, as well as general tsunami awareness information • Partner with King County and several corporations to complete development of “Map your Neighborhood” DVD and to translate into Spanish and Russian • Develop an All Hazard Alert Broadcasting (AHAB) Radio DVD to train private/public sectors and citizens/visitors on tsunami warning protocols for Washington using the AHAB Radio • Reprint education materials and tsunami brochures for local tsunami communities

Task 1 – Mitigation and Preparedness • Provide seed money to four tsunami counties to fund a person to support tsunami education of citizens, responders and businesses in the tsunami inundation zone (4 @ $25K) • Continue to support social science activities in coastal communities to allow the state to measure tsunami preparedness of communities and areas that need additional work • Deployment, Maintenance and Improvement of tsunami warning evacuation signs and evacuation routes in tsunami coastal communities • Support of international tsunami efforts through the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (UNESCO/IOC), the International Tsunami Information Centre (ITIC) and other related international programs Task 1 Costs Labor $ 75,000 Non-Labor $219,000

Task 2 – Inundation Modeling and Mapping • Based on modeling of Everett by NOAA/PMEL, develop an inundation map, evacuation map and brochure(s) • Inundation maps and evacuation maps put into an ARC IMS Server • LIDAR to support ground failure/tsunami evacuation route mapping (State funded effort) for Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Long Beach, La Push, and Ocean Shores • Modeling of worst case distant event (by NOAA/PMEL) for Port Angeles and Neah Bay (Grids are complete) and Aberdeen and Hoquiam Task 2 Costs Non-Labor $280,000

Task 3 – Tsunami Notification Infrastructure • AHAB Radio Satellite time and spare parts for AHAB Radio • Alert and notification communication systems (AHAB Radio and NWR) for coastal communities • Participate in end to end tests of tsunami notification/alert systems including communications testing of local systems and semiannual Drop, Cover, and Hold Drill/Tsunami Drill Task 3 Costs Non-Labor $296,000

  6. Task 4 – TsunamiReady • Partner with NWS-Seattle/Portland to update media tool kit and to provide annual tsunami training for broadcasters that support tsunami warning procedures and communication protocols • AHAB Radio for warning the Hoh Tribe (High Risk) • NOAA Weather Radios for low income/Special Needs population in at-risk tsunami community in Pacific County (Pilot Project) Task 4 Costs Non-Labor $72,500

  7. Task 5 – Multi-State Project • TsuInfo Alert Newsletter Task 5 Costs Non-Labor $50,000 (Contract with DNR)

  8. Total NTHMP Cost Labor $ 75,000 Non-Labor $917,500 Total $992,000
