Enhancing Student Success: Pathfinder Elementary's Building Improvement Plan 2010-2011

At Pathfinder Elementary, we're committed to fostering a bright future for our students. During the 2010-2011 school year, we implemented comprehensive reading comprehension strategies, achieving a 90% accuracy rate as measured by classroom assessments by May 2011. Our interventions included professional development on running records, tutoring, small group regrouping, and one-on-one instruction. We've also focused on behavioral improvements through our Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS). Together, we're making learning fun and effective!

  2. Building Improvement Plan (Reading Comprehension)Students at Pathfinder will gather and use information from fiction and non-fiction texts to develop and answer questions using comprehension strategies with 90% accuracy as measured by common classroom assessment by May 2011.

  3. Interventions Implemented • Professional development on running records • Pull data from running records to create intervention plans • Tutoring • Frequent regrouping of small reading groups • Tier three reading intervention (one-on-one instruction) • Ability grouping between grade level
