What is Luminescence ?

- It generates light by chemical reactions, the light signal can be used

for analyte quantification

- It does not require external light source to excite the analyte, such as

fluorescence or absorbance measurement

- Due to photon counting detector can detect a few photons,

the detection can be extremely sensitive

- Common luminescence are chemiluminescence & bioluminescence
