Unified Mongol clans in 1200

Received the title “Genghis Khan” in 1206.

Real name was “Temujin”

Took over Jin Empire in 1211, controlled all of Central Asia by 1225.

  • Died of illness in 1227. By then, the empire was the largest land empire EVER in history. It included both modern day China and Poland- a pretty incredible feat.
