Summary • INTERREG – Central Europe • Priority 2: Improving Accessibility of and within Central EuropeArea of Intervention P2.4: Promoting ICT and alternative solutions for enhancing access • Duration: 10/2008 – 09/2011 • Budget: 2.650.000 EUR (EkF 250.000EUR) • Partners from Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia & Czech Republic

Objectives • The general objective is enabling Central Europe manufacturing SMEs to jointly participate in the dynamic construction of efficient transnational transport solutions by means of knowledge and intelligent ICT services provided by an EU-wide network of intermediary organisations (logistic brokers).

  4. Approach • The methodology is intended to reach the project objectives by performing the following main activities: • Construction of transport-related data model and multilingual vocabulary of logistic B2B terms for automatic conversion/translation of the exchanged knowledge and documents. • Development of ICT tools and services for demand aggregation, route planning and solution enhancement by adapting software prototypes coming from previous projects. • Establishment of a network of 5-6 self-sustainable logistic brokers of different nature in as many regions, to behave as living examples for the successive mass deployment of the proposed solution. • Validation of the new organisational model by 4 transnational pilot actions involving the identified brokers as well as a number of selected companies and logistic operators. • Definition of a roadmap addressed to institutions and candidate brokers for the adoption of the proposed organisational model and the mass deployment of the broker network.
