Remove barriers to Recruiting How hard is it to Volunteer for NWTF? • Not seen as important to recruit • Constantly complain about how hard they work • Use “We’re dying without help” as their appeal • Don’t want help – better “doers” than “leaders” • Run off any who tries to volunteer • Only want “the right kind of volunteer” • Set high barriers of entry and acceptance

  9. Focus and Priority • Death and distraction by “plus one leadership” • Lead first by example • “You can’t talk your way out of a problem you acted your way into” • Communicate • Create clarity • Over communicate clarity • Reinforce clarity

  10. Reinforce – Recognize - Celebrate • Constantly Reinforce the message • Don’t lose out to “plus one” messaging • Recognize positive efforts, actions, messages, etc. • Celebrate Success! • Awards, Rewards, Highest Levels of Recognition
