  3. LHWS Theoretical Training • Duration • Six Days on Standard LHWP Module • Venue • FLCF • Participants • LHWs 6-10 • LHS 1 ( supervising those LHWs) • Trainers • Two Trainers ( One vaccinator and 2nd either MO or LHV)

LHWs Practical Training • Duration • Six Months (1-2 D/W depending upon BCG & Measles Days) • Break Up • One Months; Observational & Record keeping • Three Months; Vaccination by LHWs In FLCF • Two Months; Vaccination by LHWs in her HH • Participants • LHWS (6-10 in one batch) • Trainers • Two ( Vaccinator & LHS)

Coordination between Stake holders • Coordination Committee at the District Level • District level Committee (to be notified by DGHS) comprising of • EDO Health Chairman • District Coordinator National Programme for FP & PHC • EPI Coordinator • DSV • ADC • A focal person will be nominated by the EDO health; he will coordinate with PPIU, DD EPI office and Partners

Coordination between Stake holders conti… • The committee will ensure • Establishment of FLCF level committee • Availability of sufficient Vaccine and disposable syringes at FLCF. • Vaccine carrier and other logistics for LHSs • Disbursement of Finances if any • Data collection and reporting • Availability of Plan for Monthly monitoring of activity • Surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases and AEFI (Adverse Events Following)

Coordination between Stake holders conti… • Coordination Committee at the FLCF Level • FLCF committee comprising of • FLCF In charge • Vaccinator • National Programme Focal Person • LHS • The committee will ensure that • Training of LHWs on routine EPI as per guidelines • Monthly tour plan of LHS and Vaccinators are prepared and available. • Monthly Plan of Vaccine supply to LHWs is prepared by LHS & Vaccinator and available. • Timely supply of Vaccine, Syringes to LHSs/LHWs as per agreed Plan

Coordination between Stake holders conti… • The committee will ensure that (continue) • Collection of Unused Vaccine, Syringes from LHWs and LHS • Collection of Daily LHWs Vaccination progress from LHSs. • Surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases and AEFI (Adverse Events Following) • Safe disposal of Used Syringes and empty vaccine Vial. • Plan for Coverage of reported missed or refusal cases • Reporting of Monthly coverage report to District Focal point

  9. EPI Vaccination Sessions • LHWs will be responsible for Penta, OPV and TT vaccinations in her catchment areas and refer children for BCG & Measles. • LHWs Vaccination Session plan of each LHS/FLCF should be spread over all working days in a month (considering holidays and campaign days) • On a particular day at least one to two LHW under one LHS will conduct Vaccination session in their catchment areas. • Vaccinator will conduct outreach session in areas which are not covered by LHW. • Fixed site to remain open on all working days. When vaccinator is on outreach, LHV or some other trained paramedic will provide EPI Services at the fixed site.

  10. Supply of Vaccine/Logistics to LHWs • EPI Technician/Vaccinator will be responsible for issuing vaccine and other logistics at FLCF level to the respective LHS/LHWs. • LHWs living at 10-15 Minutes walk from FLCF will collect vaccine from FLCF themselves. • To other LHWs vaccine will be supplied by LHS as per agreed plan. • In case LHS is not available her driver will be responsible and if he is not available then vaccinator will take vaccine to LHWs HH.

  11. Recording, Reporting and Review • Only one permanent register per Union Council/FLCF to be maintained by the vaccinator. • Infant Vaccination card to be issued by the vaccinatoronlyduring BCG vaccination. • PL Vaccination card could be prepared by LHWs but the Card number will be given by vaccinator. • LHW will record the vaccination information in the daily report form and in her diary and will handover the report to the LHS concerned after each vaccination session

  12. Recording, Reporting and Review • LHS will handover the information to EPI Technician/ Vaccinator for his record on the same day or next morning • Vaccinator will transfer data from daily report to permanent register within 24 hrs. • LHS will routinely enquire about AEFI from LHW during her visit and will fill up the forms kept with her accordingly and submit it to the vaccinator.
