  2. November 22, 1963 • JFK was in Dallas, TX trying to get support for next year’s election. • Kennedy and his wife, Jackie were riding with Texas Governor Connelly and his wife.

  3. As the car drove through Dealy Plaza, shots were fired injuring both the president and the Texas governor. • The president was fatally wounded in the head by a third shot. • The now famous Zapruder film caught the horrific event on film • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-cri43ttTo

  5. Lee Harvey Oswald • Shown here in Oak Cliff, Texas. • Tried to defect to the Soviet Union and Cuba.

  6. School Book Depository • LHO got a job in this building. He would eventually shoot JFK from the sixth floor.

  13. Oswald fled the scene • He checked into his boarding house on 1026 Beckley. • Officer J. Tippit stops on the street to talk to Oswald. • Oswald shoots him to death.

  14. Lee Harvey Oswald walked 8 blocks to Texas Theatre on Jefferson Blvd.

  15. Arrested • The Cops beat LHO up after he resisted arrest at the theatre.

  16. LHO was being escorted to another jail.

  17. Oswald transferred to another jail. • Jack Ruby, a Dallas nightclub owner, shoots and kills Oswald on live TV. • LHO will never go on record why he did what he did.

  18. LHO killed • “You killed the President, you rat!”

  19. LBJ was sworn in at Love Field • LBJ takes oath as the new president with Jackie Kennedy by his side. • LBJ was now burdened with the war in Vietnam and America’s reaction to the death of JFK.

  20.
