Italy • Troubles after WWI • Upset because they didn’t get land from Treaty of Versailles • Economic issues – poor economy • Major Issue with Government • Not able to do anything about problems in Italy • Benito Mussolini • Gains support by winning support of middle class • Promised better future for government • Gains power after widespread violence and threats of more uprising

Japan • Faced Problems after WWI • Mainly economic problems because of the worldwide depression • Need to expand land to fix economic problems • Japanese Military takes control • Hideki Tojo – military leader and eventually dictator of Japan • More land would mean more resources and power for Japan
