  2. The main achievement of the Duke of Lerma was its pacifist policy in foreign affairs. He was also because known by the high levels of corruption and nepotism that were achieved during his government. Thanks to his influence he became the richest person in the Spanish Monarchy. During his government 300.000 Moriscos were expelled. Due to this economic and demographic crisis that already existed got worse.
