  2. World History 10-25-16 • Read the following: What am I learning today? Today I am learning about the roles of explorers and conquistadors and the effects they had on their own societies as well as the ones they encountered. What am I going to do today to learn? Students will research and gather information about a famous explorer from the Age of Exploration using the resources in the Campbell Commons. How will I show what I have learned? Students will complete graphic organizer on specific explorer and combining the information into a photostory slideshow (Wednesday). Standard: SSWH10 The student will analyze the impact of the age of discovery and expansion into the Americas, Africa, and Asia. a. Explain the roles of explorers and conquistadors; include Zheng He, Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan, James Cook, and Samuel de Champlain.

Directions: • Login to the Cobb Digital Library https://cobb.mackinvia.com/ • Follow the directions given by Mr. Spinks. • Complete and edit PPT on specific explorer using the Cobb Digital Library to research and find information. Make sure to site your sources. • Tomorrow (Wednesday) you will be creating a Photo Story slideshow using the information and pictures you find today. • Photo Story presentation should be at a minimum of 3:00 in length. Minimum 7 photos with dialogue for each slide. • Save this PPT to you student # before you leave today!!!
