Group Project Becoming a Leader You will work in groups of four to research and create a four slide PowerPoint presentation that explains two accomplishments of the leader researched and a leadership character trait that those accomplishments reveal. Your group of four will work on two computers signed into the same log-on so you can merge your work later. First, follow the directions to open the file. Next, read the descriptions of leaders in the fields of environment, world peace, or health care advocacy. Lastly, your group will select one leader to research.

  3. Group Project Becoming a Leader Each group member will create one slide for the PowerPoint. Your slide should include a graphic such as a picture, map, or symbols, and text to present the information. Make sure your name is on your slide. You’ll be able to merge the slides because you logged on using one person’s log-on. Make sure you name the file and save your work. Your PowerPoint slides should look like they go together. Choose the same font and background. You may refine your PowerPoint when the information is complete by adding music or sounds.

Group Project Becoming a Leader Next, using the graphic organizer, research your leader on the sites allowed and take notes about: Slide One-The background of the leader -where was your leader born and raised? -what was your leaders family life like? -what was your leaders educational experience like? Slide Two-Important accomplishment number one -what is your leader’s important accomplishment? -when and where did the accomplishment take place? -who helped the leader accomplish their accomplishment? -what impact did the accomplishment have on society?

Group Project Becoming a Leader Continue using the graphic organizer, research your leader on the sites allowed and take notes about: Slide Three-Important accomplishment number two -what is your leader’s important accomplishment? -when and where did the accomplishment take place? -who helped the leader accomplish their accomplishment? -what impact did the accomplishment have on society? Slide Four-The leadership character trait that is revealed -list one character trait that is revealed by your leaders accomplishments. -explain how that trait helped lead to the accomplishment.

  6. Group Project Becoming a Leader Honest - Display sincerity, integrity, and candor in all your actions. Competent - Base your actions on reason and moral principles. Forward-looking - Set goals and have a vision of the future. Inspiring - Display confidence in all that you do. Inspire others to reach for new heights. Intelligent - Read, study, and seek challenging assignments. Fair-minded - Show fair treatment to all people. Display empathy by being sensitive to the feelings, values, interests, and well-being of others. Broad-minded - Seek out diversity. Courageous - Have the perseverance to accomplish a goal, regardlessof the seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Straightforward - Use sound judgment to make a good decisions at theright time. Imaginative - Show creativity by thinking of new and better goals, ideas, and solutions to problems. Be innovative!
