Session Nine: Making Choices

In Session Nine, participants explore ways to deal with peer pressure, reinforce problem-solving skills, practice refusal skills, and enhance critical thinking. The session includes breakout sessions for parents and youth, refusal skills activities, video or speaker discussions, and a group gathering. Materials needed include Ways of Saying No poster, Fish & Canoe game materials, scenario cards, refusal skills video or prepared speaker, and a camera (optional). An elder or spiritual leader is invited to give opening and closing prayers.
