  1. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12

  2. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 Text: Joshua 11

  3. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 • God Plays a Role in Society’s and the Individual’s Hatred of and Disobedience to Him (vv1-5, 19-20)

  4. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 Joshua 11:1When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard of this, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

  5. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 2 and to the kings who were in the northern hill country, and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in Naphoth-dor on the west,

  6. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 3 to the Canaanites in the east and the west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, and the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

  7. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 4 And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number like the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots.

  8. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 5 And all these kings joined their forces and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

  9. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 19 There was not a city that made peace with the people of Israel except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took them all in battle.

  10. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 20 For it was the Lord's doing to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and should receive no mercy but be destroyed, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

  11. Joshua: Jeopardy,Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

  12. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 • 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

  13. Joshua: Jeopardy,Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,

  14. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

  15. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;

  16. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

  17. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

  18. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips,

  19. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

  20. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

  21. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 • There is Victory Promised by God...But the Battles May Last Years (vv16-18)

  22. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 16 So Joshua took all that land, the hill country and all the Negeb and all the land of Goshen and the lowland and the Arabah and the hill country of Israel and its lowland

  23. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 17 from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. And he captured all their kings and struck them and put them to death

  24. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

  25. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 • God and You will Conquer Your ‘Giants’ -- If You are Completely Sold Out to Him! (vv21-23)

  26. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 21 And Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua devoted them to destruction with their cities

  27. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 22 There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the people of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did some remain.

  28. Joshua: Jeopardy, Justice, Jams, & Joy #12 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal allotments. And the land had rest from war.
