  2. A is for Alexandre Bilodeau. Alex won the first gold medal for Canada on home soil. His height is 173 cm (5’8”), weight 76 kg (168 lbs), birthday September 8, 1987.

  3. B is for Bobsleigh Jamaica made their first bobsled team in the early 1980’s. In their first season they crashed.

  4. C is for Canada Canada is holding the winter Olympic games this year. At Torino in 2006 Canada came inn third with 24 medals. This year Canada came in third with 26 medals, 14 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze.

  5. D is for David Bissett David plays for Canada the sport he plays is bobsledding. His height is 179 cm (5’10”), weight 102 kg (225 lbs), birthday September 26, 1979.

  6. E is for Ethiopia Ethiopia has only one athlete. His name is Robel Zemichael Teklemariam and the sport he does is cross-country skiing.

  7. F is for Finland Finland has 3 figure skaters. One of them is Kiira Korpi. She is 21 years old.

  8. G is for Germany Germany has 9 athletes in alpine skiing, we picked a girl and her name is Szandra Lajtos she’s 23 years old.

  9. H is for Hungary Hungary has 7 athletes in short track speed skating. One of their names is Szandra Lajtos she’s 23 years old.

  10. I is for Inukshuk The Inukshuk is one of the logos for the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics. The colours on it are green, dark blue, light blue, red, yellow.

  11. J is for Jamaica Jamaica has only one athlete that does free style skiing. The only person who plays for Jamaica is Errol Kerr.

  12. K is for Kazakhstan Kazakhstan has 38 athletes in the Olympics. We picked a girl named Yuliya Rodionova and she does freestyle skiing, ladies moguls.

  13. L is for Luge Luge started on February 13 to 17. So far Germany is in first for luge with a total of 5 medals.

  14. M is for Mascots The mascots for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics are Miga, Quatchi, and Sumi. Muk Muk is also a mascot but not an official one.

  15. N is for Nordic Combined Nordic combined is on February 14, 23, 25. in Nordic combined France has 1 gold medal, USA has 1 silver medal and Italy has 1 bronze medal.

  16. O is for Olympics This year the 2010 winter Olympics are held in Vancouver. There are 15 different sports.

  17. P is for Paula Bzura Paula does short track speed skating. The country she’s from is Poland.

  18. Q is for Jonathan Quick Jonathan plays hockey for the USA. He’s 24 years old. His birthday is January 21, 1986. His height is 185 cm (6’0”), weight 101 kg (223 lbs.)

  19. R is for Romania One of their athletes are Zoltan Kelemen and he does figure skating. He is 23 years old and his coach is Maria Bogyo Loffler.

  20. S is for Sidney Crosby Some facts about Sidney Crosby are his height is 181 cm( 5’11”), weight is 91 kg (201 lbs.), birthday August 7, 1987, he’s 22 years old. His nationality Canada Sidney plays hockey outside of the Olympics he plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. In the Olympics he plays for team Canada. Sidney Crosby scored the winning goal in the gold medal game this year. YAY!!

  21. T is for Turkey Turkey only has 1 athlete and her name is Tugba Karademir. She does women's figure skating and her coach is Robert Tebby.

  22. U is for Ukraine Ukraine has 47 athletes. One of them is Nadiya Didemko and she does free style skiing.

  23. V is for Vancouver Vancouver is the location of the winter 2010 Olympic games. The Vancouver logo is the Inukshuk.

  24. W is for Whistler Sliding Centre At the Whistler Sliding Centre the sports that play there are bobsleigh , luge , and skeleton.

  25. X is for Wenlong Xu Wenlong Xu does cross-country skiing for China. He is 22 years old.

  26. Y is for Soko Yamaoka Soko does snowboarding for Japan. She 35 years old and she also does ladies half pipe.

  27. Z is for Zamboni A Zamboni is a machine that cleans ice. It makes the ice nice and clean and sparkly.
