Four Goals • Goal 1 – Technology Integration and Mastery of Standards • Goal 2 – Expanding Opportunities Through Technology • Goal 3 – Technology Professional Development • Goal 4 – Technology Infrastructure
District Technology Plans • Very few changes to the process and required components • Have the State Technology Plan to work from • Easier navigation • Objectives, Action Steps (Strategies) and Indicators – you will be able to use the state’s or write your own • Additional training for those LEAs that want to learn more about technology planning and evaluation – volunteer and not required • Inventory – basically no change – clarify a few questions
District Technology Plans • General Section with open ended questions (as required by E-Rate) • Four Goals (Districts will be the same as the State’s) • Objectives for each Goal (use those in the state plan or locally develop – must have at least three) • Indicators for each objective (use those in the state plan or locally develop)
District Technology Plans • Action Steps linked to Objectives (must be locally developed) • Budget linked to action steps • Timeline (state and end date) • Source of funds • Person Responsible • Inventory • E-Rate Section linked to Action Steps
Data Collection - District Technology Survey Tool • One survey that every district will use that will collect data on the state indicators • Open for data input starting April 2 • Currently being piloted and validated • One for teachers and another one for administrators • Similar to the IMPACT survey you have used in the past (logins, etc.) • Reports will be available for district use • State will use the data for state reports
Changes from current process • New template look with easier navigation – same basic concepts • No required current and target numbers for indicators • Three new Questions linked to each Goal • Your local interpretation of the Goal • What you will be looking for to show you have achieved the Goal (capability to attach a file) • What data will you use to show progress towards meeting the Goal
School Technology Plans • District Decision • Format • Timeline • Planning process • Approval process • NOT • Copy of the LEA plan with the school’s name on it • Budget sheet
Timeline • Elluminate Session on April 2 • AM and repeated again in the afternoon (recorded for later download) • District Technology Survey Tool • Overview of the online template for the District Technology Plan • Assist guide • The only training needed in order to write the minimum requirements
Timeline • April 16 (tentative) – District Technology Plan template open (due August 15 to SDE) • Online tutorials • Region Meetings – April and May - Q & A • Region Technology Specialist • One-on-one help and/or small group Elluminate sessions – April 16 – August 15
Additional Planning Guidance • May 14 – led by Jeff Sun • All day - face to face - volunteer • Registration will be required through STI-PD • Start the local evaluation process • June 15 – led by Jeff Sun • All day - face to face - volunteer • Registration will be required through STI-PD • More in depth into the local evaluation process
Important Dates • April 2 – Elluminate Session for everyone • April 2 – Survey open for all teachers and administrators • April 16 – District Technology Plan open (tentative date) • May 14 – Additional Technology Planning Guidance • June 15 – Additional Technology Planning Guidance • August 15 – District Technology Plan due

Pioneer District Project • Additional Pioneer Districts will be chosen after June 15 to go through the complete volunteer local evaluation process.
