  1. Gifted Hands By; Joshua Watson

  2. Early Life • Ben Carson ,had a hard early life. At the age of eight his mother and father divorced. He did not understand what was happening at the time he did not understand. He had figured out that things were going better without his dad. His mother was not getting enough money to support the house so she sent them to her brother who lived in Boston. They had children and it would be fun to live with them until she could get back on her feet.

  3. School • Ben had a rough time at school in the third grade by making failing grades. He then found out that the real problem was that he could not see without any glasses. After he got the glasses Ben had came more sucssesful in the classroom. Even though his grades had came up his mother still seen improvement. So she made them read two books every week.

  4. Attitude • Ben had a very bad attitude high probleminschool. One ofthe reasons were because his mother did not get him the clothes he wanted so he could fit in the crowd and almost ended up punching his mother in the face because she did not get him the clothes he wanted. He almost ended up killing his friend over changing to a different station but if it was not for the belt buckle he had on Ben’s carer would have went down the drain.

  5. Getting into college • Ben was in his senior year in high school he hadone of the highest SAT scores in the high school. There were a few scholarships that were offered to him. It was between Yale and Harvard. After watching a episode of college bowl he made the choice that he was going to Yale.

  6. Starting School • Ben was starting college and he was attendingYale University. When Ben started he thought that he was one of the best students Yale had recruited. When he was in the teachers lounge he was listening to everybody else’s scores. Ben was shocked ,he had figured out that he was acting to cocky and there were other freshman with higher scores than he had. There was a test coming up and he prayed to the lord and asked him to help him and when the test came it seemed like he could figure out all the answers in his head. He was so happy.

  7. A Girl Named Candy • In Bens sophmore year he met thisgirl named Candy. Although Candy was just a freshman Ben still thought she was attractive. They started to talk later. Yale thought they that it would be a good idea to send them to check out areas in the Detroit area to see if they could any students with high SAT scores. While Candy and Ben where down there they stayed at Ben’s mot hers house. They were there on the last day when Ben was driving them back to Yale and they crashed. They were close to hitting something and Ben said thank you lord for keeping them. Candy had woken up from her sleep and asked what was wrong.

  8. Medical School • Ben started medical school at John Hopkins University. They worked on different animals.Bens teacher was very jealous of Ben and talked to Ben alone how everybody thought he was so good. Ben talked how he mistreated Ben.

  9. Going to Australia • After Ben graduated from John Hopkins, he was offered to go to Australia .There was a lot of thought in this situation. After while he agreed to the offer.

  10. Evaluation • Must have citations. • Some slides cannot be read. • Quit; did not finish book.
