  • Aviation Security Branch established in ATB - October 2009
  • Aim to consolidate all aviation security activities
  • AVSEC Branch comprised of two Sections Security Facilitation Policy (SFP); Implementation Support and Development (ISD) Security
  • In late 2010 Aviation Security Audit (ASA) Section will join Aviation Security Branch structure
  • No criteria and standards for technical assistance
  • Need to strengthen ICAO capacity to implement strategy
  • Possible duplication of assistance efforts
  • Need for better coordination with donor States and Organizations

    • Assistance may be offered to States not referred to the ARRB on a case by case basis

  • Training through the ASTC network
