Introduction • ASTP: Avionics Systems Technical Panel • PURPOSE: • To sustain and oversee the programs of the IEEE/AIAA • Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC), the Integrated • Communications Navigation and Surveillance Conference (ICNS); and create new conferences or partnerships. • • To promote and support publications in the domain of Avionics; • • To promote educational activities in the domain of Avionics; • • To manage the nomination and selection of candidates for IEEE Awards in the domain of Avionics; • • To encourage the submission of nominations for IEEE Fellows and Senior Members in the domain of Avionics; • • To provide periodic revision of IEEE Standards pertaining to the domain of Avionics
ASTP – Technical Pursuits Concept Developments - Surveillance, Navigation - FACE – Future Airborne Capability Environment - Integration - SW and HW integration Goals and Objectives - Hold 2-4 meetings/year - Add volunteers to support DASC and ICNS - Participation in PLANS in 2018 - Focus for 2017 - Identify and develop new avionics tutorials for DASC - Articles for Systems - Coordinated activities with other Panels Recent Activities • Chaired session at ICNS 2017 and solicited articles for Systems - Meeting planned for 36th DASC
