Writing systems. The most excepted system is the one which we are using it is called the ba be bo system. Other systems in use include Tth system used by Jim Thunder. Tth- is the ch or j sound. Praire Band also used a tt for the j or ch sound.

Old Midewen writing This is a pictorial writing system used on some midewen scrolls. This was shared by Howard Lareau “Shipshewano”
Additional midewen texts These styles are not known widely outside of the midewen society. This is proof that we did have certain writing systems which are much older and were used for remembers old recipes for medicines etc.
Ojibwe Syllabics very similar to what would have been used by Potawatomi and Cree people. Not well know today.
Ngom-Today • Each missionary who worked with the Potawatomi also developed their own styles of writing. Maurice Gailland, Father Hoecken, Johnston Lykins, and Robert Simmerall are a few of these different people. • Thankfully today the ba bay be bo system is the most widely used with a few differences with the tth or tt as the ch or j sound. • The fiero system is also very popular in Canada. The Ojibwe and Odawa which are very close to Potawatomi have for the most part adopted this style.
