  1. Mrs. Riker’s Class 2011-2012 What to Expect

  2. Be On Time!  This includes yourself—with supplies—and your assignments. • If a person has permission to speak, only that person gets to speak. (avoid blurting and interruptions) • If I ask you a question, you will answer it. If you cannot answer right away, use the pass option. I WILL come back to you. • I will often times randomly call on students. I want to hear all of you! • Check Pinnacle and/or our wiki for announcements, targets, and daily lessons if you miss a class or an assignment. (link on next slide) Class Expectations

  5. Turn in assignments in your period’s designated slot, as labeled on the shelf next to my desk. • On Time Assignments: no sticker • Late: Red Star • Make-Up: Blue Star • Bell Ringers: I will have a bell ringer at the beginning of almost every class (starting Monday). Answer the bell ringer through the sky drive UNLESS directed otherwise. Procedures

  6. Leaving the Room: Switch your I.D. card for a pass. The passes will be hanging on the same bulletin board as the NHS school bulletin (on the closet). You cannot leave without permission. If you abuse your pass privileges, I will not let you leave the room. Learning Center (& other places in the building): Walk straight there, with your classmates. If you cannot do so quietly, we will repeat this process until you can. Procedures

  7. Seminars: The first time you do something inappropriate in class—unless it’s very disruptive and disrespectful—I will simply warn you to stop. If the behavior becomes repetitive, I will give you a seminar… You come in, before or after school within a week of the offense, to prove you know the proper behavior Tardy Party: This is a special seminar I plan to hold every Friday. I’ll warn you the first time you arrive late, but you owe me time after that. If you can’t make a Tardy Party, arrange an alternate time with me (within the week of the offense). Consequences

  8. Have your binder, paper, & pen/pencil by Monday! REMEMBER
