The growth of industry and production development during the second world war provided a new generation of skilled engineers and designers. • Technological advances made during the war, in materials electronics and ergonomics, were later used by professional designers in the design of everyday products

  8. The growth of youth culture • Questions what does this mean? • In the 1960’s young people fought against traditional lifestyles and behaviour. Mary Quant’s design for the mini-skirt, for example, was hugely popular.
