CDS Innovations • Responsible for the identification of new products and services • Receives input from external sources through the various committees that CDS has in place, through the CDS customer service function and through regular contact with various stakeholder groups • CDS Innovations is encouraged to discuss ideas on new products and services with other stakeholders in the Canadian capital markets, such as transfer agents, issuers, buy-side participants, government, regulators

  4. Non-traditional business lines • Services to Canadian regulators in the form of regulatory filing systems already provided – CDS would like to continue in this area and also expand the range of services offered • OTC derivatives – CDS is actively engaged in determining what services it can provide to the Canadian capital markets for this initiative • Proxy solicitations, insurance and mortgages • Monetizing the data that CDS processes – CDS has already made significant progress in this area but believes that more can be done

Internet expansion • Introduced e-commerce applications for ISIN issuance and eligibility (2009) • Introduced alerts for certain functions such as pending events that are awaiting action on the part of the participants • Planning to introduce Web 2.0 elements in 2011 (RSS feeds, personalization) We see the Internet as a very important part of our future service delivery architecture.
