  3. Screencastingin the classroom • Screencasting is a great tool employed by the classroom teacher for Flipping a lesson • Screencasting is a great tool students may employ in a Project Based Learning classroom (Launch this Power Point in “Play Mode” for best results)

  4. What is Screencasting? Screen casting is also known as Video Screen Capture. It is a digital recording of your computer screen.

  5. What is Screencasting? But, we often include the idea of Video taping when we use the term screencasting. Your image is on the screen when you actually video a lesson.

Get Started Screencasting • Some popular Screencasting software: • SMART Notebook • ActivInspire • Jing (free) • Camstasia (about $150.00 per person) Use already created materials such as Power Points, Flip Charts and Notebooks. Materials you might need with your laptop: microphone and annotation pen.

  7. Use your Interactive Software • Go ahead and try your software: • Open ActivInspire or SMART Notebook • Open a Power Point if you do not have a Flipchart or Notebook • Launch the screen recording tool with your IWB software • Play!
