  9. D: Research and Publications • Research Requirements: • 5-year before being tenured: different universities have different requirement: (5 publications over 5-year period, among 5, at least 2 on high-level journals, 3 on general journals) – 3rd year – Pre-tenure Review.

  10. Freedom of your choice. • There are always unlimited research topics. • Students Projects – collectively to make a paper. • A thought from reading a published paper • Cooperation with other faculty members (inside or outside campus). • Research Topic selection:

  11. Research Productivity: (事半功倍 与 事倍功半) 1.You must learn – how to co-author with other faculty members (inside or outside campus). 2. You must learn – how to produce multiple papers from the same research projects. 3. You must learn – from an early draft (conference presentation and proceedings) to final draft (journal publications). 4. Try your best to gain the opportunity to do research cooperation with foreign professors and co-author with “big-name” scholars.

You only need one new and significant contribution to make your paper publishable. It is OK to argue with paper reviewers – as long as your arguments are strong. Learn – how to write a good <Literature Review> section. Learn – how to write good discussions with managerial implications from your conclusions.
