Welcome to Silver Birch Class: Timetable and Important Information for 2011-12

Welcome to your new class at Silver Birch! Our school day runs from 8:50 AM to 3:15 PM. Please ensure that your child's uniform, including their PE kit, is named. A coat is essential for outdoor activities in all weather. Students must wear black plimsolls or shoes for indoor footwear. Homework for literacy and maths will be assigned weekly, with expectations clearly outlined in the diary. Please remember to inform us of any medical conditions. Important dates include a parent meeting on September 20th and a cake sale on September 30th.

  3. Curriculum Overview

  4. Class routines • Start time 8:50 – 3:15pm. - If you are unable to collect your child contact the school by 3:00pm • All school uniform needs to be named (including PEkit). • A coat is needed at all times as we will go outside in all weathers. • Indoor footwear must be black plimsolls or shoes (no crocs or slippers). • PE kits need to include: - T-shirt in the house colour of your child - Jogging trousers - Trainers for outdoor PE

  5. Diaries - Please use the diary for: informing us of doctor appointments, as well as the office,communicating any issues that arise. - Ensure that if there is a note that your child gives the diary to the teacher when they arrive in class. - Diaries need to be handed in every Thursday. - Diaries will contain the targets for your children.

  6. Homework - Literacy homework This will be given to the children on a Wednesday and will be handed in the following Monday. - Maths homework This will be given to the children on a Friday and will be handed in the following Wednesday

  7. Contributions – please supply a box of tissues each term. • Items for the office: - All admin that needs to go to the office please give to the class teacher in a named envelope. - All hard copies of letters are kept in the entrance foyer and on the notice boards outside Willow and Nursery. • If you child has any medical/physical condition that we are not aware of please let us know. • Please name water bottles and bring them in daily.

  8. Class representative – Each class has a representative to help the teacher organise parent help during the year and the social side of your class. • If you change your mobile phone number or e-mail address then please let the office know (if you have not given either of these to the office please do so asap). • Dates to remember - 20th September Parent helper meeting 9:00am and 2:30pm. - 30th September Beech Cake Sale. - 19th October Read Write Inc. evening.
