  2. Agnatha • Jawless Fish • 2 main types Lamprey and hagfish • ectothermic- cold blooded, surrounding temperature • Closed circulatory system with 2 chambered heart • Tooth oral dish • Complete cartilaginous skeleton

  3. Chondricthyes • Cartilaginous fish • Calcification occurs on teeth and sometimes vertebrates • Jaws and teeth • 2 pairs of appendages (fins)

  4. Osteichthyes • Bony Skeleton Fish • Largest group

  5. Amphibians • Gills to Lungs, with a juvenile aquatic stage • Ectothermic • usually from eggs, but the eggs lack the membrane protection of other egg laying animals • Closed system with a 3 chambered heart

  6. Reptiles • Air breathing, lay eggs (except vipers) • Ectotherms • Have scales or scutes for skin • Ears and eye lids • Internal fertilization • No aquatic larval stage like amphibians

  7. Aves / Birds • Air breathing, have feathers, lay eggs • Wings • Endotherms – warm blooded • Closed system with 4 chambered heart

Mammals • Breath air, have hair • Females have mammary glands to produce milk (all have sweat glands) • Most have Live offspring (exceptions Platypus, Echidna) • 3 bones in the middle ear • Lower jaw bone is one piece • 1 main artery leaving the heart and it curves left • Closed system with 4 chambered heart • Diaphragm that divided the internal cavity • Endotherm – warm blooded
