Shomo • 27 years of teaching experience • Proud to be a VA Tech graduate! • Favorite place to visit – Bar Harbor, Maine • Favorite Food – seafood and french fries • Hobbies – VT Football, reading, cooking, shopping, traveling, spending time with my husband • Favorite thing to teach…the importance of agriculture! • Family – husband and two sons, granddaughter • This summer I participated in lots of AG ED conferences with other agricultural educators across the nation…in Indiana, New York, Kentucky, Washington, DC, Maryland, and Blacksburg, VA!

  5. Serving as President-Elect for 2008 Will serve as National President in 2009 8,000 members (AG teachers) nationwide National Association of Agriculutral Educators

  7. Using Hand Tools and PowerEquipment… • Identify hand tools and power equipment • Apply safe practices • Finish and preserve wood • Demonstrate safe practices • MAKE PROJECTS!

  8. FFA… • Learn about the biggest and best youth organization in the world. • Get involved in FFA activities. • Identify opportunitities!

  9. BMMS FFA Claim to Fame… 2008 • #1 Chapter in the State of Virginia • State Winner – Community Development • State Winner – Chapter Development • State Winner - Jr. Livestock Event • Three Star Rating from National FFA
