The sun is responsible for… Wind: • The patterns of air start on the equator, where sun heats it. • Cooler air hits the warmer air causing the patterns of wind around all the world.
sun is responsible for… Ocean currents: • Sun affects in two ways: • it heats the ocean creating wind and moving it in the form of friction. • It also affects by changing the temperature or salinity making it more denser • Currents depend on the density.
Sun is responsible of… • Water cycle: • It is responsible for: condensation and evaporation. • When sun heats water it evaporates and it goes up in the air as water vapor • In the air the water cools and it condense into water droplets going back to Earth.
Sun is responsible of… • Plant growth: • It gives the plants nutrients for growing. • The blue light make the leaves grow • Blue and red help to grow flowers
Energy interacts with atmosphere and earth… • The energy that interacts with the atmosphere is the electromagnetic wave • It interacts especially in 3 things: • Vegetation • Water • Soil.
Causes and patterns of wind… • As mentioned before, the warm air and the cool air hit crating patterns around the world. • Air movements toward the equator are called trade winds. • Prevailing Westerlies: is the movement of air to the west, it is responsible for the weather movement of the north hemisphere such as USA and Canada.
The seasons… • Earth is inclined so it take other climate • Also because at the time in which the earth surrounds the sun it took different angles from the way it was before.
