The IEEE Central Texas Solid-State Circuits and Systems Chapter convened on January 28, 2011, in San Marcos, TX, to discuss ongoing and future initiatives. Led by chair Zhuo Li from IBM, the meeting highlighted recent accomplishments including nine technical meetings and one workshop in 2011. The chapter received the Chapter of the Year Award and is set to receive the Outstanding Chapter Award at ISSCC 2011. Key challenges identified were increasing attendance and securing engaging technical talks for future meetings. Plans include hosting a designer forum and collaborating with the CEDA chapter.

Chapter Updates • Meeting location: UT Campus ENS 306 or ACES 2.402 • Four technical seminars since August Section Meeting.New officers were elected at 12/13/2011. • 2011 Summary • Nine technical meetings, three administrative meetings. • One workshop (36 attendees) • IEEE Circuits and Systems Society 2011 Regions 1-7 Chapter of the Year Award ($750 prize) • Will receive IEEE Solid State Circuits 2011 Outstanding Chapter Award at ISSCC on Feb 20.
SWOT Analysis • Strengths • Good technical talks, DL program. • Stable attendance rate. • So far one workshop per year in last two years. • Good leadership pipeline. • Weaknesses • Find more good technical talks and workshop topics. • Increase attendance rate.
