  3. 2011 Summer The Mailbox Birds In the summer of Cape Cod I was having a little ride on my back when I passed my neighbors mailbox, a beautiful gray bird with a soft yellow stomach flew out. I stopped the bike and put the stand down. Carefully I crept towards the mailbox. I tapped the wood of the mailbox making sure no other “Bird Parents” were in there. No more flew out so I took a peak. Inside the mailbox was three white eggs were poked out from a nest of twigs. Imagine what they are going to be. But what type of bird is it. Three weeks passed and then we knew what it was called. It was a western kingbird. But what would a western kingbird be doing in the east? We never found out because in those three weeks plus another the baby birds flew away. Leaving the mailbox nest, deserted.

  4. December 2009 C•C Has Arrived The darkness in the room didn’t brighten until my mother opened the door. My eyes flittered open. I grumbled my annoyance as she told me to get out of bed. I got out of bed mumbling angrily. Then there she was, my first puppy. She wagged her tail. I ran up to her and gave her a hug. She licked my face, I giggled. And that is how it was for the rest of the night, happiness and laughter.

  5. March 21 2011 The Black Diamond It was the day before my birthday. In the snow covered Montana. I was skiing down a route I know too well when the instructor told my group in I to go another way. We followed and then she stopped. By a sign with a black diamond on it. The instructor told us what we were going to face on the deadly black diamond. We were going onto moguls she said. I knew what moguls were, they were bumps of lot of snow she told us how to do it then we were of. I was pretty good most of the way until I nearly bumped into some one. I lost balance and I fell in the powdery sand. Then I got back up and moved on. At the end of the route were some small hills. Up, down, up,down, up down. Then the hills stopped and the ground went flat. I had successfully done my first black diamond. The day before my birthday.

  6. The Crystal Path C•C was running along the hill side and rolling in the grass. She sat down and gave a burst of speed as I headed towards her down the hill. She darted away as soon as I was about grab her. I groaned and I started to make chase again. C•C stumbled on her short feet so I could catch up with her. I gabbed the leash. One win for Julia. Now we were at the bottom hill. I started to head back up the hill. After I took about fifteen steps a dazzling white light hit my eyes and covered my vision. I closed my eyes tightly then opened them again. In front of me was a path of crystal. No not crystal, quartz. White dazzling quartz and an entire path from the top to the bottom of the hill. Wow, I thought, that’s amazing. I searched the area for tiny pieces that fell off the path. After I had gathered the pieces I wanted I went back up the hill and threw the bushes. C.c started to walk forward underneath the building. I will go back there again, I thought, to the crystal path.

  7. I woke up to feel the wind on my face coming through the window. I hopped out of bed and whizzed down the stairs to get my breakfast. I looked outside the window at our waterfall. In the middle between the first and second water fall I saw something white with a green stem. Was that my lily? I opened the screen door and rushed outside to the waterfall. I ran up the wood chip hill and kneeled on the ground and looked at the plant. It was a white lily flower for sure and when I looked at it from it I thought I could feel it’s softness. It was a beautiful piece of nature. As I looked at it, I felt calmed to the soul. White As A Lily
