  2. What are infinitives? • Words that are most often used to name actions • Verbs in English have different forms depending on who is doing the action or when the action is occurring: • Ie.  I walk, she walked, they have walked

  3. The most basic form a verb is called the infinitive • In English, they are very easy to spot, because they have “to” in front of them: • Ie.  to swim, to read, to eat

  4. Infinitives in Spanish don’t have a word in front of them • In Spanish, infinitives are only one word, and end in either –ar, -er, or –ir. • Escuchar • Comer • Escribir
