  2. Infinitives • An infinitive is formed from the word ‘to’ with a verb (action or being word). • Infinitives often act as nouns in a sentence • To+Verb=Infinitive

  5. Infinitives • When the word ‘to’ forms an infinitive (is located before a verb) it is NOT a preposition • Many children like to skate.– Infinitive • Some adults skate to their jobs.—Preposition • ‘their’ is not a verb, therefore ‘to’ is not acting as an infinitive in this sentence.
