  5. 21st Review Meeting of Finance Controllers at Gauhati (Assam) • Residential Bridge Course (RBC) Chenga, Barpeta • Positive findings : • Adequate infra-structural facilities - building, compound wall, • Drinking water facilities; Toilets available. • Running in DIET Building • Boys appeared to have been motivated to achieve required learning level within specified time frame, • Presently 175 Boys enrolled • Boys expressed satisfaction over teaching and learning teachers arrangements Team (3) - Field Visit Report – Dated 28th April’2009

  9. 21st Review Meeting of Finance Controllers at Gauhati (Assam) • Residential Bridge Course (RBC) Chenga, Barpeta • Matters to be taken care of and require improvement : • Cash Purchases of Food grains and other materials to be avoided to the maximum possible extent; • Advance paid for purchases to the staff should be adjusted • Children enrolled but couldn’t be mainstreamed to the formal schooling system should be tracked and remedial action be taken to get them in school; • Teachers of the centre to be imparted proper training • Remedial Teaching Arrangements required for the children having lower learning level • Bank Reconciliation statement be prepared • Social status of the enrolled children be maintained and displayed along with financial receipt and expenditure for the purpose of social audit system Team (3) - Field Visit Report – Dated 28th April’2009

Musalmanpar Para Middle School, Chenga , Barpeta • Positive findings : • Adequate infra-structural facilities - building, compound wall, drinking water facilities; Toilets available. • Adequate TLM / TLE available in the school • Adequate nos. of teachers in place, • Cash book properly maintained and signed by Head Master and Secretary of SMC; • Fixed Assets Register Maintained • UC in respect of grants received up to 2008-09 issued; • Balance of Bank Pass Book agrees with the closing balance as per cash book; • Proceedings of the SMC meeting recorded and maintained; Team (3) - Field Visit Report – Dated 28th April’2009

Musalmanpar Para Middle School, Chenga , Barpeta • Matters to be taken care of and required improvement : • Maintenance of two set of Cash Books, one for Civil Works and another for other items should be discontinued and only one Book be maintained from the financial year 2009-10; • Attendance rate of the children was very poor which is approximately Only 50 % . Reasons behind this poor attendance should be identified and shared with the Teachers, the members of the SMC and also with the parents • Only receipts under SSA are displayed which is also in scattered way. This should be displayed along with the year wise expenditure in a consolidated way for the purpose of social Audit ; • Learning level of the children requires to be regularly evaluated and remedial action be taken for improvement. • Teachers should be imparted proper training to ensure qualitative improvement of class room transactions to make the teaching – Learning processes child friendly and more joyful; • Supply of MDM requires to be resumed Team (3) - Field Visit Report – Dated 28th April’2009

It was stated that the IED materials have been received in BRC and shall be distributed after election processes are over. • The conditions of Black Boards in the Class Room is found unusable.
