  5. Suspensions • Decrease in suspensions last two years compared to 04-05 • Increase in offenses related to controlled substances/alcohol • Decrease in acts of hate violence

  8. Expulsions • Decrease in number of students expelled under the District’s 2 /3 • Fight Rule • Decrease in number of students expelled for weapons, drugs and alcohol

Using the Data • The data will be shared with District • Equity Team and used in developing District Equity Action Plans • District administration is providing support and direction for site goals and action plans • Site principals have analyzed the data and are developing action plans to reduce suspension and expulsion numbers

Principals’ Goals • Reduce suspensions • Reduce expulsions • Focus on over-represented groups • Principals’ Action Plans • Provide comprehensive supervision on campus and at school activities • Early identification and intervention • Focus on the classroom: “Every Student by Name and Need” • Participate in Site Equity Team training and engage staff in Courageous Conversations
