  3. How to run SAS on Linux • Full-Screen Mode- Via X-win32 to connect to acs-linux • Batch Mode- For advanced users- Any terminal program connect to acs-liunx

  4. SAS Full-Screen Mode • Three Windows- Program Editor Window (Create/Edit)- Log Window (Log and Error Messages)- Output Window (Analysis Results) • Printing Options- Use “Print” under “File” pull-down menu - Saving individual SAS windows then print- Use WinSCP to print locally

X-win32 and WinSCP • Where to download:http://www.bu.edu/tech/desktop/support/software/windows/ • X-Win32- Connect to acs-linux remotely to run SAS in full screen mode • WinSCP- Allows you to transfer files between acs-linux and your Windows workstation- Print acs-linux files on your local printer

  6. X-Win32 • X-Win32- Current version 2012- VPN is not required- Download and install- Save the key- Configure for SAS using Xconfig (done once) - Click on “Autostart” and use the “Wizard” - keywords “sas”, “ssh”,“acs-linux.bu.edu”,”sas”- Create X-Win32 shortcut on desktop- Invoke X-Win32

  7. WinSCP • Download and Run • Install not necessary • Give you a desktop interface to your acs-linux files • Transfer files between acs-linux and Windows • Print directly from acs-linux to your local printer
