  4. OBJECTIVES • Students will graph colored scales. • Students will understand least, most and same amount.

  5. ANTICIPATORY SET • Rainbow fish in a jar. • Estimate how many fish.

  6. PROCEDURE • Construction paper colored scales. • Read “Rainbow Fish”. • Pass out scales. • Introduce Microsoft Excel. • Completed graph, fish cut-out, colored circles. • Count rainbow fish in the jar.

  7. QUESTIONS • What can this graph tell us? • Number of different colored scales. • Any black scales? • What color has the most? • What color has the least? • Colors with the same amount?

  8. ASSESSMENT • Correct color scale on graph. • Fish cut-out correct. • Get 4 of 6 questions correct.

  9. MATERIALS • Teacher-made graph. • Computer generated graph for each student. • Fish cut-out. • Colored circles (scales). • Scissors, glue, tape. • Jar with small rainbow fish cut-outs.
