FY 11-12 Contract Awards • We anticipate an increase in each LHJs prevention grant base funding, depending on our CDC Prevention Award. • The five newly funded LHJs will receive a 6-month prevention grant for January – June of this FY. • The new allocation formula utilizing HIV/AIDS incidence and prevalence data will be used to distribute the additional funds. • FY 12-13 funding will be distributed using the allocation formula, based on the new CDC award amount.
Expectations of additional Base Funding • Will be added to LHJs current Prevention grant base funding • To be used to enhance prevention program activities listed in new FOA. • May include additional testing at high-risk, high-yield sites • May include additional PwP prevention activities • May be used for capacity building, training and planning for new prevention program
Transition Funding • OA applied for and was awarded $900,000 from CDC to support transitional activities as we begin the new CDC PS 12-1201 Prevention Program. • These are one-time funds to be used and invoiced for during the period covering January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012. • OA will use the allocation formula to distribute the additional funds to 15 currently funded LHJs. • The funds are to be used to continue implementing current HIV prevention activities that will discontinue at the end of FY 11-12. • The funds cannot be used to add new sites, add services or expand current FY 11-12 activities.
Planning Activity Examples • Training, capacity building, hire planning consultant, costs to close out services • Using your Epi data and HIV Community Plans, prioritize Tier I activities in your new prevention program • Assess current Tier I activities that can continue and contribute to your prevention program • Identify gaps in activities or target populations that will need additional resources or new activities developed • Submit Plans to OA, on worksheets and format provided by OA
