  2. Success is a Process! • A process paper is a description of no more than 500 words explaining how you conducted your research and created and developed your entry. You must conclude your description with an explanation of the relationship of your topic to the contest theme. (nhd.org)

  3. Your title page must include only the title of your entry, your name(s) and the contest division and category in which you are entered. Do not include your age, grade or school name.   4. Outline How-To • Use those numerals! “She doesn’t understand Roman Numerals…she thought we fought in World War Eleven…” • Give me two to three sentences per numeral! HOW TO: • How You Chose Your Topic • How You Conducted Research • a. How You Selected Your Presentation Category b. How You Created Your Project • IV. How Your Project Relates to the Theme

SAMPLE OUTLINE • How You Chose Your Topic (I chose Edith Wilson because we discussed her in my history class this year, and I was impressed by her actions as a First Lady) • How You Conducted Research (I used several websites and books to complete my research. I started by using Encyclopedia Britannica to research the time period when she was a First Lady…) • a. How You Selected Your Presentation Category (I chose to do a website because I enjoy working with technology, etc. ) b. How You Created Your Project I created my project with Weebly, pulling together images from my research and self-created text)) • How Your Project Relates to the Theme (My choice of Edith Wilson relates to the theme because as first lady she had a responsibility to the American People as well as to her husband and she had the right to…etc)

  7. Final Process Paper Draft • Step One: Turn your outline draft in on Friday, December 6th, 2013. Include your title page stapled to the front of your outline! • Have your outline approved by me and make any changes necessary. • Use your outline to write your process paper. Reminders: Not more than 500 words, DO NOT PLAGARIZE, you MUST turn one in with your final project in February. • If you need help- see me!
