  3. Introduction • Begin with a sentence or two introducing the historical background • “In 1947, post-World War II (WWII) Europe saw the growing threat of communism and declining economies” • Introduce your thesis state (argument) • End with a sentence stating what this led to

  4. Body Paragraph • Spend three or four paragraphs explaining in chronological order what happened or what it was like leading up to the thesis • Explain the thesis and its impact. Go into great detail here. • Discuss your counterclaim to the event • Refute your counterclaim • State any long term impacts of your thesis

  5. Conclusion • Restate your thesis statement and the importance of it • Do not add new information • Restate its impact on rights and responsibility

  6. Images • You may have up to 3 pictures • Add the captions below the pictures in a smaller font • Make sure you cite this in your bibliography

  7. Endnotes • Must have endnotes or parenthetical reference • Endnotes are numbers in superscript • Use the OWL Purdue • Can also use parenthetical reference • Use Noodle Tools for this

  8. Writing Tips! • This is formal writing! • NO VOICE AT ALL • NO CONTRACTIONS • Annotate your bibliography • Explain why you used the source • Sort your sources by secondary and primary
