  1. Higher Writing Folio Feedback – Persuasive Essay

General Feedback - TA • You MUST read over your work and check your technical accuracy (punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, grammar…) as you WILL FAIL if this is not accurate. • Your essay must also make sense so ensure you haven’t missed out any words and ensure your expression isn’t overly complicated. • You must write in the correct tense and use appropriate singular/plural tenses.

  3. Persuasive Stance and Structure • Your essay should try to persuade me to believe/agree in your point of view. This means you must have a clear persuasive stance, which is obvious from the introduction. • Do not give me lots of information without a clear explanation of WHY this adds to your stance. • Each new point should be relevant to your overall stance and your persuasive stance should be visible in all of your paragraphs.

  4. Word Count and References • Ensure you include your word count at the end of your final draft. • You must list the websites, books, journals, TV programmes…. you used as part of your evidence and research in your final draft.

  5. FINAL DRAFT Your final draft is due on THURSDAY 6TH OCTOBER This is only 2 weeks away! Make sure you take all my comments on board and work hard improving and redrafting your essay. Remember, it is worth 10% of your overall grade.
