  1. Basic Wiring A Team 378 Tutorial

  2. Wire Wire Gauge should be determined by the item being powered. The fuse size for that circuit should correlate to the wire gauge based upon the following chart.

  3. Fuse Amperage Chart

  4. Fuse Fuse size should be decided by the wire gauge in the circuit it completes.

  5. Power Distribution Fuses are placed on the power distribution board in order to complete the circuit

  6. Terminals Terminals should be secured to the ends off wires. Terminals should be crimped to the wire and then soldered. When attaching a terminal, the insulation of the terminal should extend over the insulation of the wire so that no conductive material is exposed in between.

  7. Stripping • Wire size gets smaller the higher the gauge. For example 22 gauge wire is much smaller than 10 gauge wire. • take your wire and determine the gauge. The gauge of the wire is usually written on the wires insulation. If not find out the gauge by trial and error with the strippers • After pulling off the insulation give the wire a twist to keep it together • Always make sure when connecting wire that you do not go down in wire gauge.

  8. Solder Ensure that your solder does not contain lead Be sure to avoid Inhaling fumes

  9. Breaker Your main breaker should be located between your robot’s battery and your robot’s power distribution board. The main breaker should be easily accessible. It is also a good idea to clearly indicate where it is located with a sticker or similar labeling device. Circuit breakers can also be used instead of fuses on the power distribution board.

  10. Jaguar Jaguars are speed controllers Battery CAN inputs PWM inputs

  11. C rio The C rio is the brains of the robot
