Sample Scenario:

What can we provide her?

a census bureau econ data primer

  • Establishments vs. Companies
    • Most data collected at the establishment basis
  • Employer Businesses vs. Nonemployers
    • Most programs just cover employers

    • U.S. Code Title 13 results in suppression of data
  • Business Classification
    • NAICS
  • Economic Geographies
    • National, state, county, place, and ZIP Code
  • Surveys vs. the Economic Census
    • More current = less detailed

No surprise that social assistance services make up 64% of day care center receipts/revenue in NM…
