  4. Update of the Sea-Level Rise Interim Guidance Document, 1st quarter of 2013 • Update with new sea-level rise rates from NAS report (2012) • Highlight the need to consider coastal storm and surge impacts in CC planning • Build on existing Guidance from October 2010

  5. Developing the Coastal and Ocean Chapter of the Climate Readiness Strategy (CRS) • Update to the 2009 California Climate Adaptation Strategy • coordinate individual agency policies into statewide priorities • highlight the importance of extreme storm events, considers risk management • Public version will available for comment 1st quarter of 2013

  6. Other State efforts on adaptation • CA Climate Change Adaptation Policy Guide released mid 2012 • State Hazard Mitigation Plan (CalEMA, in progress) • General plan guidance update (OPR, in progress)
