  1. RICHARD II1377-1399 *BORN IN 1367, DIED 1400 *Showed great courage as a young king during the Peasant’s Revolt (1381).

  2. LORD’S APPELANT • Faction of Barons who forced Richard II to submit to them in 1387-88. • They wanted to help control the young kings ambitions, and continue the control they had under John of Gaunt. • RICHARD II removed/ eliminated this group in the year 1397.

  3. YEARS OF TYRANNY • FOLLOWED THE PROBLEMS OF THOSE OPPOSED TO HIS IDEAS • Alienated those who supported him • Help bring about the abdication by Henry Bolingbroke in 1399.

  4. HOW DID HE DIE???? • THE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH IS STILL UNCERTAIN • QUESTIONS: • WAS HE MURDERED IN PRISON??? • DID HE SIMPLY DIE OF NATURAL CAUSES?
