  6. Academic Affairs • General Revenue • Operating and Personnel • Academic Impact Fund • Tenured/Tenure Track • Instructional Capacity [Non-tenure track]

  7. Academic Impact Fund [AIF] • The Academic Impact Fund (AIF) is the account in the Provost’s office that provides funding for tenure track positions, unused sick leave payouts for tenure track faculty, and supplemental funding for instructional capacity.

  8. Academic Impact Fund [AIF] • Under the revised AIF guidelines all vacated tenure track position due to retirements or resignations are reclaimed back into the AIF as whole dollars, not individual position lines. • Every position allocated from AIF is a new position. Therefore, there are technically no vacated lines.

  9. Academic Impact Fund [AIF] • The tenure track positions authorized for searching are determined based upon the balance to AIF and a projected number of retirement/resignation reclaims anticipated. • Once the total number has been identified the positions are distributed among the colleges based on student demand, programmatic, and/or workforce needs.

  10. Budget Process in Academic Affairs • Budget Presentations for each of the Colleges typically occur the fourth week in March and are open to the campus. • All College Budget Presentations and Annual Consolidated Reports and Planning Documents are available on the Provosts Website @ www.provost.ilstu.edu – Budget Tab
