  1. Unit 2 Review STUDY!!!!!

  2. Make a Conjecture about the next number in the following sequences… • 6, 9, 7, 10, 8… • 1, 4, 16, 64, 256…

  3. 33, 30, 27, 24,... • 4, 6, 10, 12,...

  4. Identify the hypotheses and the conclusion of the statement. • If two distinct lines intersect, then their intersection is a point. • H: two distinct lines intersect • C: their intersection is a point. • If students study hard, then they learn math. • H: students study hard • C: they learn math

  5. Determine whether the conjecture is true or false. Give a counterexample if false. • Given: points A, B, C, and D Conjecture: A, B, C, and D are coplanar. • Given: point B is in the interior of <ADC Conjecture: <ADB = <BDC

  6. Determine whether the conjecture is true or false. Give a counterexample if false. • Given: m + 6 = 10 • Conjecture: m = 2

  7. Write in If-Then form… • A counterexample invalidates a statement. • Ants can walk on walls.

  8. Write the Converse of the conditional statement Reminder: Conditional statements: p  q Converse statements: q  p • If you have a cat, then you are a pet owner. Converse: If you are a pet owner, then you have a cat. • If Marcus parked in the school parking lot, then he drove to school. Converse: If Marcus drove to school, then he parked in the school parking lot.

  9. Write the converse • If you know Spanish, you can join the Foreign Language Club. Converse: If you can join the Foreign Language Club, then you know Spanish

  10. State the reasons for each Step. a. x = 8 – 2x b. = 3(8 – 2x) c. 2x = 24 – 6x • 2x + 6x = 24 – 6x + 6x • 8x = 24 • x = 3
