  2. Roderigo • He is a jealous man. He is a rich and foolish. He wants to get Dedemona hand so he can be with her. So he thinks Iago can help him out. But Othello married Dedemona.

  3. Iago • Iogo is the villain of the story. he is selfish and wants everything that Othello has. He wants his position. So he tries to be close to him so that later on he can hurt him and kill him so he can get his position.

  4. Brabanito • Brabanito is a self important venetian senator. He is trying to brake up her’s daughter married because he doesn’t like Othello which is a general. Othello is black and back then segregation was a problem. So brabanito feels betrayed.

  5. Othello • Othello play’s protagonist and hero in the story. Othello is a Christian moor. He is a general. Othello is respected by everybody that is around him. He is married with dedemona. Which is the daughter of brabanito.

  6. Cassio • He is Othello's lieutenant. Cassio is a soldier. He is an inexperience soldier. Cassio gets drunk and he is very ashamed of what he did. He lost his lieutenant place.

  7. Duke of Venice • Duke of Venice has official authority in Venice. He respects Othello as a public and as military servant.

  8. Dedemona • Dedemona is the daughter of brabanito. Dedemona is also married with Othello even though her father doesn’t like the idea. She is capable to defend her marriage. And she can stand up to Othello jealousy.

  9. Montano • Montano is the governor before Othello. He is the governor of Cyprus.

  10. Emilia • She is Iago’s wife. She is Desdemona’s attendant. She doesn’t trust her husband Iago and she is deeply attached to her mistress.
