  2. Disadvantages of Globalization • ·       Millions of Americans have lost jobs because of imports or shifts in production abroad. Most find new jobs that pay less. • ·       Millions of other Americans fear getting laid off, especially at those firms operating in import-competing industries. • ·       Workers face demands of wage concessions from their employers, which often threaten to export jobs abroad if wage concessions are not agreed to. • ·       Besides blue-collar jobs, service and white-collar jobs are increasingly vulnerable to operations being sent overseas. • ·       Americans employees can lose their competitiveness when companies build state-of-the-art factories in low-wage countries, making them as productive as those in the United States.

Globalization is in the Worker’s best Interest • In the short run, some industries & workers will be displaced. • In the long run, unemployed workers will be retrained & re-educated to better paying jobs that is better suited for the world economy • Globalization makes trade less costly and Efficient.

The RICH gets RICHER • Promotes IMPERIALISM • Some LDN are not able to Integrate • The Rich will Get Richer • Tensions between Govt’s & Societies • Terrorism’s inevitable outcome • Negative impact on gender roles • Exploitation of Third World countries • Americans will lose their Jobs • Unemployment DISADVANTAGES AMERICANS NEED JOBS, right now more than ever!

Unlimited Wealth with Global Markets • Running for over a 100 years • What Why & How • Increase in Productivity => Increasing Living Standards • Increasing Multinational firms => Expansion of Workers real wages over time in developing countries • GLOBALIZATION = FREEDOM • TRADE RESTRICTION = THE GREAT DEPRESSION

  8. Vote For Terrorism ! • Invasion of Privacy • Increased Insecurity • Health Risk • Inequality of Women • Exploitation • Children – Natural Resources
